How Accurate is the Test?

The overall sensitivity of the COVID-19 PCR test is 97.14%. That means that it can accurately pinpoint someone who is positive with a 97.14% certainty. The overall specificity is 92.87% which means the ability of the test to identify people without the disease is 92.87%.

The reason that this test is so much more accurate than other tests is that it uses IgA, IgM, and IgG. Most antibody tests only use IgM and IgG which leaves more room for error.

They are still gathering additional data to determine the accuracy of the at-home kits.

How much is this test compared to getting it elsewhere?

In our research this test will be much less than the one at the hospital typically is because a health care practitioner is not required. NOTE: If you are having symptoms you need to seek medical advice immediately whether or not you have this test kit. This kit is in no way a substitute for medical care.

Is This Test Kit FDA Approved?

Yes, this test received FDA EUA approval and is from a private lab that is CLIA and CAP-certified. The laboratory testing is performed in California.

How Do I order?

Fill out this form. Please note you have to fill out a form for EVERY KIT that you order and the kit must be registered to a specific person. That means that if you have a test kit it cannot be transferred without contacting us first. We may or may not be able to complete a transfer. We will do our best to get the company to do so.

What Kind of Test Is This?

This is a COVID-19 PCR or Polymerase Chain Reaction test.  This is also known as a molecular test. It is a nasal swab. Don’t worry, it is not one of the crazy ones that goes really deep. This one is done with a smaller swab so it is more comfortable. It only takes a few seconds to get the sample.

A positive result indicates the virus’s genetic material is present. It does not mean that bacterial or other infections also are present.

A negative result indicates that the SARS-CoV2 virus is not present. The SARS-COV-2 causes the COVID-19 disease and a negative test shows that SARS-COV-2 was not present. It is possible but unlikely to have a very low level of the virus in the body with a negative test result.

This test is needed to identify the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the COVID-19 disease.

How Fast Will I Get My Results?

It takes a day 2-4 business days to get results. The timing depends on the day you take the test. Tests performed Monday through Thursday before 3:00 PM will get results in two to three days.

People who do tests on Friday will get results back by Tuesday. Sometimes they do come back earlier.

People who do tests on Saturday will get their results back on Wednesday.

Rush times are available at an extra charge.

We will call you when we have your results.

How Will My Results Be Delivered?

Cambiati Wellness will call you to go over the results. We can also send the written results in case you need the COVID-19 tests results for your travel.

If your airline has specific requirements for COVID-19 travel please call us ahead of time to go over the timing. It is your responsibility to confirm what documentation you need for travel. Most of the time the COVID-19 test results are sufficient for travel. Occasionally some countries will require more documentation. Please check with us ahead of time to make sure that we can provide that.

Can I Bill My Insurance for This Test?

Most insurance companies will cover some part of the cost of this test but not all companies will cover the cost of the test so we recommend using and HSA or an FSA card if you have one. You can also call your insurance company with these CPT codes to see if they will cover it: CPT:

If you are going to try to bill  your insurance company you will probably need a Superbill. We can provide one for an additional $15.

What Do I do If I Test Positive?

Contact your primary care provider immediately. You also need to quarantine and follow the county and state guidelines. Also contact us because we do have products that help outcomes without causing a cytokine storm. We have been extensively researching what helps and who it is helpful for, but you need to also contact a medical practitioner.

Keep in mind that there can be long-lasting effects (by long-lasting we mean years after) of having coronavirus. You need to develop a plan to support the body in the long term. Ask us about our coronavirus ongoing support programs.

If I Had Coronavirus but don't Anymore Can This Test Detect It?

If you have recovered from the test it will be able to detect that in the IGG results. Based on previous experience with SARS-CoV the antibodies were present 180-240 days later. We do not have enough data to know how far back COVID-19 can be detected.

Can I ship to a PO Box?

We cannot ship test kits to a PO Box. Sorry, it’s not our policy, it’s a regulatory issue.

Is This Test a PCR Test ?

No, this test leverages our private lab’s existing competency with blood testing. This will be a finger prick test that you can do yourself at home. Right now we are doing blood draws with a mobile phlebotomist.

Each person will remain in his or her car, and the mobile phlebotomist will come to your car to take the test. She will be using an N95 mask to protect you and her. she will follow strict disinfecting guidelines.

What If I Am Taking an Immunosuppressant Drug?

In the event that you are on immunosuppressive drugs please let us know because that can impact the results. You may want to do a total IgG antibody test to determine if you antibodies are at a level high enough to be detected for the greatest accuracy.

What Certifications Does the Processing Lab Hold?

All of our laboratory testings is done in a CLIA- and CAP-certified laboratory in California.

Important to Know

The Antibody test is a serology test which measures the number of antibodies or proteins present in the blood when the body is responding to a specific infection. Results from antibody testing shouldn’t be used as the sole basis to diagnose or exclude SARS-CoV-2 infection. Positive results may be due to past or present infection with non-SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus strains, such as coronavirus HKU1, NL63, OC43, or 229E.
