Apple cider vinegar–a vinegar made from fermented apple cider–has had a reputation for being a cure all for a variety of ailments and imbalances since the time of the ancient Greeks (that’s 5000 BC!). Although we think it’s some pretty special stuff with valuable properties, it’s important to note that in order to reap all the benefits, you still have to make other changes to your diet and lifestyle.
Apple cider vinegar contains probiotics and enzymes that studies have shown can help with digestion, support a proper stomach acid balance and reduce acid reflux, manage healthy blood sugar levels, lower cholesterol, aid in weight loss, reduce blood pressure, improve the immune system and enhance skin health, among others.
Try it mixed in salad dressings, use it to dilute hummus, or sip a shot in water before meals to help with digestion. All you need is 1-2 TBSP to enjoy the benefits. If you are drinking apple cider vinegar then use a straw to protect your teeth. And be mindful of the environment with straws. Use a reusable one or a biodegradable paper straw.
Look for a brand that contains “the mother,” which is the most precious part, containing those important probiotics and enzymes that lead to all these amazing boosts to your well-being.
