We love our nutritional yeast here at Cambiati Wellness! We sprinkle the yellow flakes on salads, veggies, sauces and more. It’s made from a yeast grown on sugarcane and beet molasses (who knew?), but has a cheesy, savory flavor that adds a little zip to any dish–plus, it has a rich profile of nutrients and a host of health benefits. And, just so you know, nutritional yeast might sound kind of icky, but it won’t cause your candida to get worse or a yeast infection to flare. It’s a different kind of yeast that does the body good.
Nutritional yeast is a great source of vitamin B12, which is important for things like balancing mood, providing you with energy and supporting DNA synthesis. Vegans and vegetarians tend to be low in B12, so supplementing and adding some of this tasty yeast on your food is a flavorful and useful addition. It also contains trace minerals such as selenium (important for thyroid health), iron (necessary for energy and making hemoglobin, which carries oxygen to our cells), and zinc (which supports skin health, wound healing and immunity). It also contains glutathione, the body’s master antioxidant, and boosts immunity while offering anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. There’s even some protein in this magical dust! We’d recommend adding this to your spice cabinet and start using it ASAP–and let us know what you think!
