Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with tracking things. I love a great tracker for the insights that it provides. The Spire helped me learn that I was breathing in a tense manner after ingesting caffeine. I also learned that there was an activity I was doing that I thought was relaxing, but actually was causing me physiological stress! Who knew?!
Whether it is the Bellabeat, the Spire, the Oura ring, or Sleep Cycle, they all have value. It’s all about figuring out your favorite things to track. My two favorite trackers are the Spire and the Oura ring. I absolutely love that the Oura ring only has to be charged every few days for about 30 minutes. This means that it is on my finger tracking way more often, which makes it an ideal tracker for people who want to track daytime activities as well as sleep.
I also am really excited about tracking my heart rate variability with the Oura ring. Basically when your Heart Rate Variability is good you are literally better at everything that you do. Your Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is unique to you and has to be tracked over time. Tracking HRV gives you insight into what is happening with your autonomic nervous system. Consistent stress, poor sleep, an unhealthy diet, dysfunctional relationships, and lack of exercise may cause imbalances. Your body then has your fight-or-flight system overstimulated. Sometimes we think we have everything under control but your HRV will tell you if your body actually thinks you have everything under control. It’s a great way to see if you need to do more self-care or if you should tackle the day!
