HistaGest-DAO (60 tablets) provides supplemental diamine oxidase (DAO), the enzyme responsible for breaking down food-derived histamine. Histamine is a bioactive compound produced in response to injury or foreign substances and is present in varying levels in all foods. Some foods, such as fermented items and alcoholic beverages, are particularly high in histamines. Reduced DAO activity can lead to higher histamine absorption in the small intestine, causing it to accumulate in the blood. Taking one tablet before each meal increases DAO levels in the small intestine, helping to break down histamine in the digestive tract and alleviate discomfort associated with sensitivity to histamine-rich foods.

Recommended Use: Take 1 tablet just prior to consuming histamine-rich foods or as directed by your healthcare practitioner. Swallow the tablet whole 20 minutes before meals.
